The Thomas Brotherz: Music

Teenage Curse

(The Thomas Brotherz)
In 50 odd years that I’ve been through ain’t one bite of life I forgot to chew
I smoked that dope I swallerd them pills
Used whiskey an’ women to get my thrills
Well all my kin was gitin’ mad. Talk ‘bout me wastin’ all the time I had
But I didn’t listen cause I didn’t really care
Ya see I ‘za busy bobbin’ an’ weevin’, livin’ large, lovin’ an’ skeemin’
Wearin’ my hair tied back in a handsome bow
Daddy said “Time to make a livin’.” Momma told me I had to quit drinkin’
If I was gonna stay there sleepin’ under their roof
Well I didn’t feel like that was right, so I packed a few things – thought I’d
travel light
Didn’t say good bye just left like a thief in the night
Thought things were better when they were worse Hell I was livin’ the
Teenage Curse
For the life of me I don’t know how I got this far
Well I guess it’s somethin’ we all go through. Actin’ up ‘n’ playin’ the fool
But ya know sometimes I wish I woulda been smarter
Cause now I’ve got kids of my own actin’ up and leavin’ home
Clearin’ a path that they’ve got to walk alone
Thought things were better when they were worse Hell I was livin’ the
Teenage Curse
For the life a me I don’t know how I got this far
